As a manufacturer of Southern Yellow Pine lumber, Keadle Lumber Enterprises, Inc. is a family-owned, privately held company that predominantly supplies pine lumber to the construction and housing industry. Manufacturers also purchase a portion of our lumber to produce a variety of products.
Our customer base is comprised of wood treating companies, retail lumber yards, industrial re-manufacturers, and wholesalers. In addition, to customers in Georgia, we also sell our product in Florida, Alabama, Tennessee and the Carolinas. Furthermore, we ship to most states east of the Mississippi River with a significant volume to the Midwest.
Exporting on an indirect basis, Keadle Lumber often makes its way overseas, including to Baghdad, Iraq.
Individual consumers may purchase Keadle products at local building supply stores. We produce:
- 2” Dimensional Lumber
- 5/4” Decking
- Small Timbers
- 1” Boards
- Byproducts – Wood Chips, Shavings, Saw Dust, Bark
Our sawmill runs up to 500 logs per hour and produces enough lumber hourly to construct three median size homes. We also produce over 150,000 tons of wood chips, shavings, sawdust and bark. The byproducts are used in making paper, composite products, and chicken litter, and in various horticultural applications. In fact, our total lumber production has increased by more than 50% since the year 2000.
Located on approximately 105 acres with railroad access to ship lumber and wood chips, our facilities include heavy manufacturing equipment utilizing the up-to-the-minute scanning and optimization technology. We additionally own 8,000 acres of timber, but purchase about 90 percent of our production capacity from individual land owners and wood suppliers within an 80-mile radius of our mill.
As stewards of the land, we take special care in making select cuts as opposed to clear-cutting. Additionally, 30-year rotation crops supply the timber from our own land.
